Finally, when my mom came home, I didn’t want anything to do with her. Our dad begged for a truce between us. Bitterness, anger, and hurt filled my heart. My hatred for her became apparent to everyone.

People also need to understand that depression and crazy is not something that we can just “snap out of.” Like other illnesses, the depression and mania are episodes that just need to run their course. One cannot be expected to just get over a cold if they choose, and the same goes for depression and mania.

When was the last time you apologized to someone you hated? At this point in time, Sarah hates Jack because her brain has fed her lies and twisted her perception about the way their life has been. She doesn’t love him right now and may take it out on him in a number of ways- a revenge affair for his “infidelity”, physical and verbal abuse, or whatever her mind may cook up.

Give certain parts of yourself back to the people who need you most – your family and friends. Identify those specific behaviors, habits, and thoughts that take your best qualities and devotion away from those who love you most, then make a conscious effort to eliminate those negative aspects of your character.

While you are waiting for the person of your dreams, work on improving yourself. Think of something that you have always wanted to do and devote yourself to it. If there is a non-romantic activity that you have wanted to achieve and just do it. If there is anything that you want to improve about your life, now is the time to take action.

This is the point that many people get wrong. They ask, “If my loved one knew they hurt me, why wouldn’t they apologize?” Because they haven’t rebalanced yet or they don’t know what to say.
